Hanwell Methodist Church

Hanwell Methodist Church's Wednesday Club meets about
once every month usually on the second Wednesday of the
month in the evening at 8:00pm. The group have a varied
programme each year which consists of musical evenings,
entertainment, social gatherings, demonstrations, talks and similar activities. Printed programmes are usually available at the back of the Church in the display stands.

All are welcome to attend any of the meetings. If you require further information then please contact one of our stewards.

The current year's programme of activities up to the summer break in 2016 is published below. Most meetings start at 8:00pm and use our Centenary Room as the meeting venue.  Tea, coffee and other refreshments are served at each meeting.  There is usually a small charge of about 50p or £1 to cover the cost.

Some events such as a trip to the theatre or a barbeque may not be held in the Church or start at 8:00pm. Details of imminent events are usually also listed in the Church’s weekly newsletter and on our Diary page.

Do you have an interest?

The Wednesday Club are always looking for guest speakers and demonstrators to invite to their social events.  If you have an interest that you would like to talk about, then please get in contact with one of the members.  You can find names and contact details in the Club’s printed programme available on the back pew shelf in Church.

11th October
The Church Wednesday Club invites you to their first social evening meeting of this Methodist year. The evening theme will be a guest speaker giving at talk about the Life of an Archaeologist.

The venue is our Centenary Room. All are welcome and tea and coffee and light refreshments will be served.
25th October
Our Church Wednesday Club will be having an extra meeting with an outing to Drayton Manor School to see the GLOC Theatre Company production of All Shook Up being put on by this local amatuer dramatic group who use our Church premises for their practice sessions.

The event, which costs £16 per ticket, will also include supper. Note the slightly earlier start time.
8th November
Let the games begin! Our Wednesday Club will be hosting one of their popular (not too strenuous) games nights in the Centenary Room and Church.

Light refreshments will be served.
13th December
The Wednesday Club will be putting on a Christmas Singlong incorporating festive food, fun and carol singing.

Everyone is welcome to join in the event which will be held in the Church Centenary Room.
10th January
The club are planning to have a meal and cinema or theatre evening. Watch out because the start time may not be the usual time of 8:00pm.

Details will need to be confirmed nearer the time.
7th February
Time for our local Churches to battle it out in this annual Quiz evening.  This is the time when it will be a battle of wits between teams from St. Mellitus, Our Lady and St Josephs, and Hanwell Methodist churches. Other local churches may be added to the list if they think they have a chance of taking home the trophy!

Our Church will be looking for our awesome and highly intelligent members a little nearer the time. Please come and support us. The venue is the Church Centenary Room.

Refreshments will be served.
14th March
Be prepared for an evening which will include a talk and/or drama given by members from the local Questors Theatre Group. This event is still to be confirmed.

The meeting will be held in the Centenary Room. All are welcome to listen and enjoy the refreshments that will be served.
11th April
The Church Wednesday Club were planning to have a holiday talk from a guest speaker. This event has now been postponed.
9th May
The holiday talk which was to have been given last month will be happening this evening. The talk will be given by two of our Church members and will be about Sidmouth Folk Festival.

Dancing round the maypole event, which was meant to be on today, is likely to take place next year.
13th June
This Wednesday Club meeting will be a Planning Meeting to determine the Wednesday Club's 2018/2019 programme of events. If you have got something to offer or a hobby or interest you would like to talk about, or even if you have got ideas of what items could be on the next season's programme then you will be welcome to come along to the Centenary Room to add your contribution.

In exchange for your ideas, you will be offered tea, coffee and cake... and the Wednesday Club offer a very good cup of tea, coffee and cake.
11th July
The club will be holding a BBQ evening where you can enjoy fine cuisine and company at a member's house.
